Hey guys!
So I have seen how much Tina has disclosed about me to all of you & now it
is my turn to get back at her! I am going to reveal certain whimsical habits of
Tina's that you wouldn't have known of & boy, are you'll going to have a
good laugh over them!
We all have our own embarrassing habits & some of them are hilarious to
ourself! Aren't they? I'm sharing with you some of Tina's. I hope she doesn't
kill me for this! But come what may, I love her in spite of her silliness!
Enjoy!
My wife has the strangest habit of rubbing her feet together when she's
half awake & when fast asleep! Although her body is stiff and still! Yes,
know it sounds scary like she will wake up any minute & like a ghost pounce
on you & scratch you all over! Anyway, so after I am back from my gym
in the morning, only if her feet are moving will I go talk to her. Else I won't
because I don't want to disturb her beauty sleep. And she uses this to her
advantage intentionally; depending on whether/not she wants me to come to her!
These women I tell you! They are so smart!
Tina is like a five year old kid. She has a major sweet tooth & just
NEEDS to nibble on something sweet, first thing in the morning; before even
brushing her teeth, mind you! It's a funny fetish but true!
She may look very delicate but in reality is very strong! She appears to
be fragile but man, does she have the muscles to beat up! That is why I listen
to my wife without any arguments, else I could get punched!
In fact, she has even boxed men in trains for acting in a cheap/cheeky manner.
That's really a sight to see!
She suffers from this phobia of walking alone on the road!
Isn't she such a kid!? You might think Tina is the queen of bizarre habits but
it is very amusing at the same time!
Tina has started wearing the chef's hat & apron. She cooks quite a bit
now & her cooking is done with unbelievable perfection! If 20ml water is
required then an EXACT measured 20ml only will be poured! Even salt which most
Indians sprinkle andaaze se, Tina will measure to utmost accuracy & only
then take a pinch of it. And she is a perfectionist to the core on anything she
does! For example, even the chat show 'Life Ban Jaye' that she did, she did her
detailed research on every celebrity guest! Like a jaasus, she got everything
researched on their lives. At the end of it I assume she even knew more than
the celebrities themselves! Even our bed sheet is spread out very neatly, minus
any folds or wrinkles! So you can imagine how crisp & welcoming our bed
looks. Now that's a perfectionist for you!
Tina likes romantic, soft & soulful music. Meaningful & deep
lyrics are what she looks for, along with a soothing melody. Nothing noisy! She
is quite filmy that way! Her favorite song is- 'MAKING LOVE OUT OF NOTHING AT
ALL' & her favorite artists- 'Air Supply' & Celine Dion.
She adores slow romantic English songs & that's why 'Air Supply' is her all
time favorite. Celine Dion is her all time-favorite too. Especially because she
shares her birthday with this legend!
To start off with, thank you so much guys for all your lovely comments to all our Rome pictures. Yes, we did have a blast! After our beautiful Rome trip and Goa blast, I also went to the United States along with my mom to visit my sister and her family. All this time, I was sunken in work. To sit & relax also I would have to put some time out specially! But luckily I had a break for a while & made use of it to spend some quality family time. My sister's kids are 5 & 2 years old. So they are quite young & in their toddlers stage. But this is when they mainly transit & you see little changes in them. My mother hates the distance from them & was aching to see them walk, talk & mischief around. That's the reason why we went there. I adore my niece & nephew & had a great time with my brother in-law as well. We bonded, fooled & played around. It was a lovely, well-spent holiday for about 2 weeks.
So you all may be thinking now what next on the work front? Well guys, you will see me once again performing at the very prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Awards. The Rajiv Gandhi Awards were held on August 19th in Mumbai & it was held to celebrate the talent of India's young achievers. Some of the award recipients were Olympic shooter Abhinav Bindra, Bollywood actors Shahid Kapoor and Katrina Kaif as well as Avika Gor from 'Balika Vadhu'. It was basically an attempt to congratulate & appreciate them for their commendable work in their respective fields. It felt very good to be a part of the celebrations especially since I was the only from our television industry. Others included Bollywood's big names like Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra and Esha Deol. Sharing the same stage as them was very exciting because just like you, I'm a big fan of each of them! The theme was on the lines of patriotism & motivation. Songs composed by A.R. Rehman were danced to, amongst those from 'Lakshya', 'Chak De!' & 'New York'. It was about a guy who is clueless as to what he wants to do in life, how to make it big, which is the right path and so on. He feels like a loser & then kids come around as guides, showing him a better India, and how to reach out & achieve his goal. Through songs, we showed how we must dream, overcome whatever life may throw our way, overcome hurdles, conquer obstacles & prove ourselves to the world. We tried showing that Indians are fighters - we are ambitious, and are determined to follow our dreams and make it reality, come what may. And I completely believe in it! In our everyday lives, no matter whom/what we are, we all have little battles to face. We all have problems. It could be household related, work/business related or friends related. Be it small/big, we never succumb to them but come out of it. All of us have to make ends meet at the end of the day. To earn our families & ourselves a decent 2 meals a day, is not all that easy. We have all put in our hard work & sweat to achieve our own little goals. That is what we Indians are made up of. So through our performances, we tried giving out this message to the audiences & it turned out quite inspiring. To me as well! So I wanted to share the same thought and message with all you people.
Posted on: 13 August 2009 at 12:00amOur journey continues...
DAY 10 15thJune Hussain: We visited the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Although intended to stand
vertically, the tower began leaning & that is how it got its name. According
to some of the guides there, it was constructed by accident! But wow!!! what
a mistake! Beautiful arches. Usually when touring a city, one would go via
bus guides. But this time we didn't have a window seat view of all of
Italy's history, but a closer view. Eccellente! Magnifico! splendido!
Also, we visited caves. The echoing inside had us excited as we were hooting
sounds & each others names in there! The paintings on its inside
walls called frescoes were also "superbo" It said a story of the ancient
times. But Tina thought nothing beats our India. The forts in Jaipur,
Rajasthan have an unbeatable charm. We tended to do frequent comparisons
of anything catchy in the firangi lands, with India. But obviously, we
prefer India. Any day! Although we have to praise them for the way they
have preserved their history.
DAY 11 16thJune Tina: It
was our last & final show. We were nervous, excited, charged up but
sad as well since the performances marathon was coming to an end L
Touch wood our final was the best show! J There was yelling and
shouting on stage & energy unlimited. We had a thorough blast
throughout & enjoyed ourselves to the fullest. We ended the day by going
partying which was another blast as well!
DAY 12 17thJune Hussain:The Colosseum
is an amphitheatre in the center of the city of Rome, Italy, the largest
ever built in the Roman Empire. It is one of the greatest works of Roman
architecture and Roman engineering. And indeed-it really really is! The
Colosseum was used for gladiatorial contests. After the Colosseum, we got
onto our toes to make it on time for our train to Zurich. Last time, when
we were on our way to the airport to start this trip, we missed our
flight! Like they say- "Once bitten, twice shy" so we made it a point to be
on par with the clock. Thankfully we reached the station, punctually.
DAY 13 18thJune Tina: We
reached Zurich. It
is very peaceful and clean, feels like an isolated mountain town from the
world, with the snowy mountains around. Scenic snow-covered houses along
the slopes of mountains and ski resorts. Just sitting and enjoying the view
was relaxing and an unforgettable experience. We visited Interlaken here.
Paris was our next stop but we decided against it, thinking we would
rather laze & explore around. Our day ended with a pleasant, romantic
dinner. The time we spent together alone was very memorable.
DAY 14 19thJune Hussain: The weather was spectacular! After we woke up, we felt really cozy &
snug in our bed & warm quilt so did not wake up till the sunny
afternoon was in. By the time we stepped out, it was five in the evening. Everything
was almost shut, unlike in our aamchi Mumbai! We hired a car to drive around
& stopped by Lake Brienz. The turquoise Lake Brienz is situated in the spectacular mountain
setting of the Bernese Oberland. A boat ride on this typical alpine lake
with its steep sides is a truly impressive experience. It was soothing,
calm, serene, romantic, relaxing, everything that makes you feel simply nice!
DAY 15 20thJune Tina: Today, we are going to the Top of Europe, the highest point
in Europe...Mountain Jungfraujoch. This was the first time in our life we
were coming across to such thick and white layers & layers of snow so
it was quite ecstatic! We do not think there are places in the world that
can quite be compared to the serenity of this place. There were a lot of
picturesque house half covered with snow along the mountain. We tried our
hand at skiing; weren't pros at it but it was fun! We were the last to
leave & were dead tired by the time we did.
DAY 16 & 17 21st & 22nd June Hussain: For
our last 3 days we had not booked ourselves anywhere. So basically you can
say we were shelter-less! :S
But that is what adventure & we are all about ;)
explore, explore & explore! That is all our motto & aim was for
the last few days. We roamed in & around Switzerland by car. But in
our over excitement & enthusiasm, we did not realize the scary chills
the weather would bring down our spines! It was hazy & foggy, with the
horizon barely visible. It was frightening driving ahead! Somehow we
managed & lunched, & enjoyed another adventurous experience!
Soon we checked into another hotel where the only guests were Tina, and
me. The whole day brought in elements of surprises!
DAY 18 23rdJune Tina: We went on to check Mt. Titlis out. It is famous as the site of the
world's first revolving cable car. We even visited its unique glacier,
which flaunts a cave from within! It was amazing & we were stunned on
seeing it. But what amazed us even more, was seeing a banner written in
our very own mother tongue-Hindi! We played & slid down through the
snow. It felt like being kids again J
DAY 19 24th June Hussain: We
were on our way back home. We packed & collected all our memories
together, and headed for our connecting flight from Dubai to Mumbai. We reached Dubai & were excited to be only a few hours & miles
away from home sweet home, & from all of you-our wonderful fans! We have
been waiting eagerly to share our moments & fun times through our tour.
